Award-winning journalist Greg Palast will kick off the book tour for his new book, "Armed Madhouse: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the Class War," in Portland on June 5. The book is the latest of what Britain’s Guardian calls “investigations up there with Woodward and Bernstein – and a lot funnier.” Greg’s reports have won him a record six "Project Censored" awards for reporting the news American media doesn't want you to hear. Progressive radio host and author, Thom Hartmann, will introduce Greg.

One of Armed Madhouse’s five sections features the crisis in US elections. Greg’s extensive documentation shows three million ballots were cast but not counted in 2004 -- and how in 2008, four million ballots will go missing, and how this will happen (unless, of course, it is stopped).

Author of the New York Times bestseller, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy," Palast is best known in his native USA as the journalist who, for the Observer (UK), broke the story of how Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris purged thousands of Black Florida citizens from voter rolls before the 2000 election.
